Back in June 2016 (where has the time gone?!) I was part of an awesome project called ‘Women With Tattoos’. I blogged about the time I spent with photographer Eleni, who invites tattooed women to be photographed and interviewed as part of her series of portraits.
Described as “a visual love letter to women and their ink”, WWT was an inspiring experience for me personally as it allowed me to take a quiet moment to reflect on my own tattoos. Word about the unique project spread fast, and some of us were subsequently interviewed by Stylist Magazine.
The stories of these women are beautiful and encompass everything we love about our tattoos – you can read more of them over on Eleni’s website. I hugely admire Eleni and her creative talents as she has something important to say about gender and tattoos, and she’s actually saying it. We need more people like her making waves in the industry.
Anyway, Women With Tattoos is now 1 year old! As a mini celebration Eleni is running a competition to win a free photographic print. “This project has given me the chance to spend time with incredible women who have expanded my thinking and helped me embrace my own skin and everything ‘underneath’ it,” she says. “Thank you to everyone who has cheered Women with Tattoos on, whether by following the project on Instagram, emailing me your feedback or taking the time to be photographed – your presence is felt”
Enter the competition by reading the full details and sharing the post on Instagram.
We are… women with tattoos. ❤
